What happens to the spreadsheets, PDFs, decks and notes you upload.

Read in a sandbox
When you upload a file, it is opened and read in a sandbox: an isolated environment with no network access that cannot reach anyone else's files or our other systems. Only the text, numbers and images we pulled out of it leave the sandbox.
Never used to train models
Your uploads, your data and what is made from them are never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. We do not sell them and we do not use them for anything except making your charts and decks.
To write a deck outline or turn a plain-English request into a chart, we send the relevant text to Anthropic's Claude models. Anthropic's commercial terms do not allow it to train models on what we send.
How long we keep them
- The file you upload for a deck is deleted 30 days after the deck was last built, or straight away when you delete the deck, whichever comes first. The finished deck stays until you delete it.
- An upload that never becomes a deck is deleted after a day.
- If you use Decksmade without an account, your deck is deleted after 7 days. Charts made without an account are deleted after 30 days.
- When you delete a deck or chart, everything that went into it and came out of it is deleted.
- Our database keeps a 30-day history for recovery, so deleted records can remain there for up to 30 days.
Who can see them
You, and the people you share a deck or chart with. We can access files only where we need to in order to run or secure the Service, or where the law requires us to. A share link works for anyone who has it, so only send it to people you want to see the deck or chart. It shows that deck or chart, including any speaker notes in a deck, and nothing else in your account. You can turn a deck's link off at any time.
Your control
You can delete any deck or chart, or the file behind a deck, at any time. To close your account and delete everything in it, sign in and use account.lookgoodtools.com/account. You confirm with a code we email you and by typing DELETE. If you cannot sign in, email hello@lookgoodtools.com from the address on your account and we will close it for you.
Deleting your account is immediate and final. There is no grace period and it cannot be undone. It deletes your account and its data in every Look Good Tools product (Decksmade and Chartsmade): uploaded files, made decks and charts, share and embed links, brand kits, API keys and credits. It finishes in every product within minutes. If a product is briefly unreachable, we retry automatically until it is done.
It also cancels any paid plan at once, with no refund for the rest of the period. Whether you get a refund is decided separately under the refund policy.
We keep three things. Stripe keeps the customer record and invoices for 6 years, because UK tax law (HMRC) requires it. We keep a record of the deletion for 6 years, in case of a refund request, a dispute or a chargeback: your email address, your plans and payments, what you agreed to at checkout, and how you used your credits. It holds nothing you made. We also keep records of model spend, with no link to you, for cost and abuse limits. We keep nothing else. For anything else, email hello@lookgoodtools.com.
